Each portrait is typically painted over the course of three weeks, with about 7-14 days of drying time needed before shipment or pick up of the piece.
-
Most of my paintings feature dogs and cats, but there is no animal that is off limits. In addition to animals, I often paint landscapes and human portraits.
-
Absolutely. When paying in installments, most clients choose to pay a 50% deposit, but I allow up to 5 payments.
-
You can make a secure payment through my website using all major credit/debit cards, as well as Paypal. I also accept payments via mailed check and Zelle.

I can work from multiple photos for both singular pet portraits, and multi-pet portraits. Having multiple photos to work from helps me best portray your pet.
While a single group photo isn’t necessary for multi-pet portraits, it’s helpful if each pet's reference photo has similar lighting and angles to ensure a cohesive look in the final portrait.
-
There are many possibilities for the background of your pet’s portrait. For no added cost, I can do a simple painterly backdrop, or for an added cost, I can paint a detailed scene. I can paint the background from your reference photo or create a different setting altogether. I can work from an existing photo for the background or create something unique.

For orders within the United States, I primarily use USPS Priority Mail (1-3 business day delivery) but will occasionally use UPS Ground for large paintings or paintings that are traveling far (1-5 business day delivery).
For international shipments, we will discuss the best shipping method as there is usually a wide range of options from different price points.

Orders within the United States ship free and insured.
For international orders, you are responsible for all shipping costs. This includes, but is not limited to: postage, taxes, duties, and other fees. These costs are dependent on your location.

Yes, however, you will be responsible for all shipping costs. This includes, but is not limited to: postage, taxes, duties, and extra fees. These costs will vary depending on your location. We can discuss shipping and estimate costs prior to submitting an order.
-
Yes, just let me know you’d like to see progress photos of your commission when you place your order and I will send you photos via email as I work on each layer of your painting.
Regardless of whether you request progress photos, I’ll send multiple images of the finished painting for your approval before shipping.

I generally do not frame commissioned paintings as I believe it is usually best for the client to choose a frame that suits their aesthetic. However, I can frame the piece for an extra cost.
You do not need to frame your painting if you do not want to. I paint the sides of each canvas a solid color that compliments the painting, and can attach a wire to the back for no added cost for easy hanging.
-
Yes, I can. There is a small increase in cost for pieces larger than 5”x7”.
-
It is incredibly important to me that all of my clients are happy with their oil paintings. For this reason, I send all of my clients photos of their finished portrait prior to shipping the piece in case any adjustments need to be made. Adjustments are classified as either minor or major adjustments. The majority of adjustments I make are considered minor and are free of charge. For more information on adjustments, please review my terms and conditions for commissioned artwork.
If you remain unsatisfied with the painting after adjustments, or if you prefer not to request changes, I will provide a full refund. In this case, I will retain all rights to the painting, including the option to offer it for sale to others.

The cost to commission an oil painting depends on several different factors, including the number of pets in the painting, the size of the painting, and the desired background style. More information on my pricing can be found HERE.
