Custom Pet Oil Paintings
Pricing and Commission Process
PRICING
Below you will find an overview of my pet oil painting pricing, which reflects the price of a portrait with a simple, painterly background. I am able to paint a detailed background instead for an extra cost. This added cost will vary depending on the complexity of your desired background. More information can be found below.
You do not need to pay the full amount at once when commissioning an oil painting.

COMMISSION PROCESS
And Other Helpful Information
1. Review my Commission Terms and Conditions
My Commission Terms and Conditions can be found HERE.
Please review this information prior to moving forward with commissioning an oil painting. My Commission Terms and Conditions are a simple outline that goes over every aspect of the commission process.
2. Gather Your Favorite Photos of Your Pet(s)
Each portrait is hand-painted using the reference photos you provide. While high-quality images are preferred to best capture your pet’s unique details, photos taken with a phone usually work wonderfully—especially when taken at eye level, in good lighting, or outdoors. If you have multiple photos, I can combine them for both single-pet or multi-pet portraits to create your ideal painting. I am always happy to assist in selecting the best photo(s) for your painting if you need any help.
Note: I can omit flaws such as glare, minor blur, or unwanted collars/harnesses. However, extremely blurred or poorly lit photos may not be usable. Additional photos are always welcome to help me accurately portray your pet.
3. Contact me
Use my contact form or send me an email directly to: Briannaleidyart@gmail.com. I will need several things:
Timeline: If you need your painting by a specific date, let me know, and I’ll confirm if this is possible based on current availability.
Photos and Vision: Please provide the reference photo(s) you'd like me to use for your pet’s oil painting. If you envision specific details for your pet’s portrait, share your ideas, and I’ll bring them to life. Otherwise, feel free to send one or more photos, and I will create a composition that I feel will work best for your painting.
If you need help selecting the best photo, don’t hesitate to reach out. Simply email me at briannaleidyart@gmail.com with your options, and we’ll choose the most suitable reference(s) together.
Size: Let me know the size you envision for your painting, or I will be happy to provide guidance if you are unsure.
Background: For simple backgrounds, feel free to suggest color preferences; otherwise, I’ll choose tones that best complement your pet. For more detailed backgrounds (e.g., an outdoor setting, sofa, etc.), I can either reference your photo’s setting or create a custom scene.
I will provide an estimated completion date for your painting. Due to the nature of oil paints, this timeline is approximate and not a guarantee unless we have agreed on a specific deadline. Once we’ve finalized the photo(s), size, background style, and addressed any questions, you may proceed with your order!
4. Place Your Order
For standard portraits with simple backgrounds, you may place your order HERE , or submit a 50% deposit HERE.
For portraits requiring a detailed background or complex elements (e.g., more than three subjects or framing), I will email you an invoice when you are ready to order. This can be securely paid through my website or via Zelle, PayPal, or mailed check.
I accept both full payments and installment plans.
If you are submitting two payments: A 50% deposit reserves your spot on my schedule, with the remaining balance due upon your approval of the painting and before shipment.
If needed, the total payment can be divided up to 5 smaller payments. A minimum non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to hold your place on my schedule.
Please note that no paintings will be shipped until the full balance has been paid.
What to Expect After Placing Your Order
After ordering through my website, you'll receive an automatic confirmation email. I’ll also reach out within 48 hours to confirm that you're on my schedule.
Most of my clients prefer to see their painting only when it’s finished, but if you’d like progress photos, just let me know and I will send you photos as I work through each of the painting layers.
I will email you when I start and complete the piece, and upon completion, I’ll send photos (and often a video) for review. Minor adjustments are complimentary to ensure you're fully satisfied; details on major adjustments are in my terms and conditions.
After your approval, the painting will need about 10-14 days to dry. Once dry and any final balances are paid, I’ll varnish it and ship it to you, fully insured. I use USPS Priority Mail for small-medium pieces and UPS Ground for larger pieces, with tracking info provided upon shipping.
